Starter Locs

This process marks the beginning of unifying multiple strands of hair via a number of varying methods, with a strong foundation, thereby eventually creating a dense collective of curls, or loc.

Loc Maintenance

Entails the separating, cleansing, moisturizing, and palm rolling of already formed locs.

Interlocking

Interlocking is a loc maintenance technique by which, following a specific pattern, the loc is interwoven into itself, akin to crocheting, thereby tightening new growth to the scalp.

Wicks

Wick establishment is the process of crocheting large masses of hair (or smaller Traditional Locs) to form colossal-sized locs. A typical crown of Wicks has less than 15 total locs, a quarter size or greater in diameter each.

Traditional Loc Extensions

Patience is a virtue with debatable value. Hence, clients desiring the immediate gratification of instant locs may choose this process of attaching extension human hair to their natural hair, with a layer of locksmithing, to create a simulated loc. The beauty of this option eliminates the average wait time of one year required for mature and/or lengthy locs.

Microloc Extensions

This unique technique is the process of installing locs, micro in size, and extending the length of the locs with textured, human hair. The beauty of extensions is they wear well with time; therefore, the older they get, the more natural they look. The cost of hair is included.

Faux/Goddess Locs

If you want to test the water and see if you can rock with locs, this is the style for you. With a timeframe of 3-4 months, clients may experience the length of mature locs before committing to the process.

A combination of Two Strand Twists + Nubian Knots (commonly into a bob shape), this style provides versatility, longevity, & flair.

Corkscrews

As the name suggests, this style reduces length by 50% (without cutting) by ‘screwing’ sections of locs upon themselves. Once removed, locs hang in swirls.

Braid/Rod Set

Mature locs are braided or set on perm rods with a natural, residue-free setting spray and/or foam, resulting in a wavy Z pattern or curly S pattern throughout the locs, respectively. This style offers pizazz and longevity, as it lasts three to four weeks.

Pipe Cleaner Set

Mature locs are secured onto, wrapped tightly around, and set on pipe cleaners with a natural, residue-free setting spray and/or foam. Tight, volumous curls may be achieved after hours of dryer time, or clients may enjoy two styles in one by leaving moldable pipe cleaners inside locs for days on end, and unveiling their glorious curls later.
